ISO 9001 is being revised for release sometime in 2015. A working draft was released for comment late last year, but now that draft is under revision. So, nothing official has been released. However, it is important to follow the process as the working drafts are released for comment.
The most notable revision to ISO 9001:2008 is the inclusion of risk management. Standard writers think risk to business and products/services deserves to be formally addressed in the quality management system.
It is very possible that risk management may be addressed in many segments of the revised ISO 9001 standard including leadership, planning, control of changes, control of external processes/products, as well as design and development.
ASR will keep clients posted on all the proposed changes to ISO 9001as they become available.
