Requirements for

With many more of the US companies still in the transition process it is important to
Review the ASR article listing the top 3 NCs written across the USA. Total Productive Maintenance
Ranked is high on both the Major NC list and the Minor NC list. This article is going to review the standard requirement the documented NCs and the differences between a major and a minor NC.

The ITAR 16949 requirements are listen in the standard under they have added a lot of specific requirements that are beyond those found in ISO/TS 16949.

These requirements can be broken into a planning and organization phase and a action part.

When planning:

b) Availability of spare parts for all of the equipment listed in a) (above) in house parts or parts identified at the distributor or manufacturer of the equipment.
c) Provision for resources for machines, equipment, and facility maintenance—probably in house and manufactures or service organizations—employee training records and contractor information
d) Packaging and preservation of all equipment, tooling and gaging
e) Applicable customer -specific requirements.
J) overhauls of equipment as schedule events –probably inside of the preventive maintenance schedule or a separate listing.

In operation of the TPM program

f) Documented maintenance objectives :examples OEE, MTBF, MTTR.
And preventive maintenance objectives. (noticed the and in the standard)
These are inputs to the management review
g) Regular review of the maintenance plan and a documented action plan when objectives are not achieved.
h) Preventive maintenance methods (must have objectives and goals. See f)
i) Predictive maintenance methods as applicable.
